Community support grants

The Nordic Collaborative connects people, ideas, and experiences inspired by contemporary Nordic cultures. Based in Eau Claire, WI, we support learning, exchanges, and culture programs across Western Wisconsin and Upper Midwest. One way of doing this is to sponsor and support programs that help us learn about and from Nordic cultures in ways that enhance our community through education and experience.

Toward this end, we offer small grants to organizations in the Chippewa Valley that share our goal.

GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINES:

The Nordic Collaborative will receive grant applications and considered by the Board of Directors on a rolling basis.  As such, there are no formal deadlines.  However, the Board meets approximately quarterly, so it is important for grant requests to be submitted as far in advance of the need as possible.

Grant requirements

  • Submit your application a minimum of two months before the start of your program.

  • Grants are to support and enhance specific activities, events, or programs and typically range from $250-$1000. Requests for greater amounts will be considered for unique and exceptional activities. In most cases, it is appropriate to for potential grantees to meet with the Nordic Collaborative Board to present their proposal and be available to answer questions.  

  • Underwriting from the Nordic Collaborative is not to be used for operating costs or general funding.

  • The Nordic Collaborative must be identified as a sponsor and the Nordic Collaborative logo must be used in all appropriate print and electronic informational materials. (access logo graphics through the Nordic Collaborative website).

  • Upon conclusion of the activity, event, or program, grantees should provide the Nordic Collaborative with brief report and evaluation of the project outcomes. Please include how our support enhanced the project and evidence that our funding was used as intended.

  • The Nordic Collaborative requests that grantee organizations encourage their members to join and support the mission of the Nordic Collaborative (Membership Information here).
