The Nordic Collaborative connects people, ideas, and experiences inspired by contemporary Nordic cultures. Based in Western Wisconsin, we support learning, exchange, and cultural programs across the Upper Midwest and beyond.
Our Purpose
To promote the understanding and appreciation of Scandinavian and Finnish culture to all people, including the people, places, and environments of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, in service of education, mutual understanding, applied learning, and experience through which we can benefit from contemporary Nordic lifestyle and practice.
To promote and encourage instruction in Scandinavian and Finnish area studies at all Midwest educational institutions.
To encourage the study of Scandinavian and Finnish languages, art, music, science, and general culture among adults as well as among students.
To encourage the interchange of American, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, and Swedish students, teachers, professional and non-professional leaders, lecturers, artists, and publications.
To secure and invest funds for the above purposes. We sponsor and support programs to learn about and from Nordic cultures in ways that enhance our community through education and experience.
